Following a torrid trading day in Asian financial markets, US stock futures have fallen sharply Friday. In the US, Dow Jones Industrial Average futures gave up about 300 points, or 1 percent, while the S&P 500 futures shed 1 percent at 2,926.75. The Nasdaq-100 futures lost 1.3 percent at 8,273. On Thursday, the Dow Jones Industrial Average plunged by 1,190.95 points, its largest one-day point drop in history, bringing its loss for the week to 3,225.77 points, or 11.1 percent. In Frankfurt, the DAX 30 index shed 3.6 percent, the Paris CAC 40 slumped by 3.1percent and Milan's FTSE MIB gave up 2.8 percent.
