US to test new Microwave missile that could 'fry North Korean nuclear weapons before they're even fired'

Could not subscribe, try again later Invalid EmailThe US may test new microwave weapons on North Korea to disable nuclear warheads, according to a weapons development specialist. It is believed that the new 'CHAMP' technology would fry the controls to Kim Jong-un 's missiles, making it impossible to activate them. Although CHAMP weapons are still being developed, their use was discussed by the White House at a meeting in August to thwart North Korean aggression, NBC News reports. CHAMP, which stands for Counter-electronics High Power Microwave Advanced Missile Project, has been developed at the Air Force Research Laboratory since 2009. Following the test, the US and South Korean air forces began air drills together, despite claims for Kim that such demonstrations could trigger nuclear war.
