The University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville has been named one of the top 250 hospitals in the world by Newsweek magazine. “This ranking shows the great strides we are making,” UVa Health CEO Craig Kent said in a statement announcing the news. Late last year, medical news and information site WebMD named UVa Health the “best in class” health system in the commonwealth for its cancer, heart, orthopedics, neurology and digestive care. A month prior, Newsweek named the health system among the “world’s best” in neurosurgery, oncology and cardiology. Before the year closed, the American Association for Men in Nursing named UVa one of the “Best School for Men in Nursing.”
