She has been waiting for her British visa having applied a month agoA mother of two fleeing Ukraine has had to go back there after weeks spent waiting for her British visa. Oksana Melashchuk, 37, left her home in Dnipro with her children, Tikhon, five, and Maria, four months, at the beginning of March, intending to use the Homes for Ukraine scheme. This allows Ukrainians to take refuge in the UK if they are sponsored by a British citizen. SponsoredBoth children received their visa two weeks ago, but Melashchuk is yet to receive hers, despite having applied more than a month ago. They have been renting a small flat in Dunkirk for the past week, having driven through Romania, Hungary, Austria and Germany.
