Liberia Finance Minister Tweah Chairs National Climate Change Steering CommitteeUnconfirmed report circulating on social media has revealed that the Minister of Finance and Development Planning (MFDP), Samuel D. Tweah who returned recently from Abuja, Nigeria has reportedly submitted his letter of resignation to the Liberian leader, President George M. Weah. According to the report, the Liberian leader has reportedly rejected Minister Tweah’s letter of resignation based on several factors. The report further states that while Minister Tweah was in Abuja negotiating for loan from AFDB, the President reportedly Weah called him to provide $200,000.00USD for the just ended Cabinet Retreat held in the port city of Buchanan, Grand Bassa County. The unconfirmed report also indicated that Tweah’s response to the President, asserted that there is no funding now for such extravagant spending, lamented that some agencies of government have not received salaries for the past two to three months now.
