United Airlines and the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA (AFA) have reached a new tentative agreement that could deliver major gains for the airline’s approximately 30,000 flight attendants. Upon ratification, flight attendants would receive immediate wage increases. This would make United flight attendants the highest-paid in the U.S. airline industry. Earlier estimates for similar bonuses averaged around $21,500 per person, with higher amounts for senior or high-time flight attendants. These changes aim to reduce irregular hours and give flight attendants more control over their time off.
