NEW DELHI: United 's Newark-Mumbai flight was delayed on Thursday night (New York time) by over four hours due to "maintenance check". While the airline fixed the issue, the maximum flight time of the crew originally supposed to operate this almost 15-hour flight would have gotten over due to the delayed departure of the flight. "United flight UA48 New York/Newark-Mumbai experienced a delay to allow time for a maintenance check. We apologise to our customers for this delay," United said in a statement.The US carrier was recently in the news when it temporarily suspended flights to Delhi for a couple of days due to spiked pollution in the capital. That was the possibly the first time a major international carrier cancelled flights to a city for this reason.
