UnitedHealth Group is significantly expanding its “concierge services” offered to its Medicare Advantage enrollees by the health insurer's nurse and customer service navigators. Known as Navigate4Me, the service is designed to help seniors with complex health conditions in UnitedHealth’s Medicare Advantage plans to get the right care, in the right place and at the right time. These navigators, who consist of nurses and “customer service advocates” support about 215,000 Medicare Advantage enrollees. The effort comes as UnitedHealth and rivals including Aetna, Cigna, Humana and Anthem fight to sign up -- and try to hold onto -- the increasing numbers of seniors flocking to Medicare Advantage plans. Medicare Advantage enrollment is projected to rise to 38 million, or 50% market penetration by the end of 2025, according to a report last year from L.E.K.
