This shot by Fearnley was used on the cover of his 1967 debut. The album was met with little attention and few sales. Bowie took time off after being dropped by his label, re-emerging in 1969 with Space Oddity. Bowie Unseen by Gerald Fearnley is published by ACC Editions in August
