The Met Office has updated its yellow warning for heavy rain in Scotland with the 30-hour alert now starting at midnight on Saturday and lasting until 6am on Sunday. It states that "Heavy and persistent rain this weekend may cause flooding and disruption across parts of Scotland". For the rest of us, the autumn soaking is likely to dump around 5cm to 7.5cm of rain on our heads. Scotland is on the wrong side of a north-south divide for weather in Britain this weekend, with the south set for unseasonably warm temperatures for October. There is heavy rain across parts of Scotland so it's not everywhere that will see the warm spells of sunshine.
