MANILA, Philippines — A total of 61 dead, 18 missing persons and 12 injured have been reported in the aftermath of Tropical Depression Usman, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council said. The reported number of casualties in Regions 4B (Mimaropa), 5 (Bicol) and 8 (Eastern Visayas) are subject for validation as of Sunday evening. Among the 61 reported casualties, 50 are from the Bicol region while the remaining 11 are from Eastern Visayas. The 18 persons reported missing were from the same regions while the injured individuals were from Regions 4B and 5. As early as December 26, local government units have preemptively evacuated a total of 1,169 or 2,567 individuals in the affected regions.
