LAHORE- Uzbekistan defeated Pakistan 2-1 in the World Junior Tennis (WJT) Competition Boys 14&Under Asia/Oceania Final Qualifying Event 2022, continued at the RK Khanna Tennis Stadium, New Delhi, India. On the fifth day of the competition, Pakistan’s Hamza Roman won the first singles match by beating Saidov Sukhrob 5-2 (retired) but their seeded player Hussnain Ali Rizwan couldn’t deliver against Uzbekistan’s Khojiboev Abdurakhmon, who routed the Pakistani player 6-3, 6-2. In the decisive doubles match, Uzbekistan’s Khojiboev Abdurakhmon and Toshmukhamedov Akhmadjon had to struggle hard to beat Pakistani pair of Ahtesham Humayun and Hamza Roman by 7-6, 3-6, 11-9. Ahtesham Humayun and Hussnain Ali Rizwan won their singles with Ahtesham Humayun and Hamza Roman making it 3-0 for Pakistan after winning the doubles. In the tough singles match, Pakistan ATF 2nd ranked player Hussnain Ali Rizwan (LGS Paragon) outpaced Malaysia’s No 1 player Muhammad Adeeb 6-3, 6-1.
