Two cases that came up before British courts recently stand testimony to the dilemma that judges face. After the birth of the first child, the claimant before the court (the biological father) developed a desire to live as a woman. The dilemma that the court faced was as to which element of the right under Article 8 was stronger. The court also felt that such alteration of birth certificates would provoke disputes that will be contrary to public interest. V.
