In swimming, Vietnam sent two young athletes, Nguyen Thuy Hien and Pham Thi Van, to the final of the women's 100m freestyle. Both men's and women's representatives, Lam Quang Nhat and Nguyen Thi Kim Cuong, could not finish their race. After a medical check, boxer Nguyen Thi Tam announced bad news for supporters. The event was hosted by the Vietnam Women’s Association (VWA) in the RoK, with the support of the Vietnamese Embassy in the country.
