For his part, Deputy Prime Minister Pham Binh Minh affirmed that Vietnam, as vice chairman of the UN General Assembly, would actively back and contribute to the success of the session. Vietnam does not sacrifice the environment in exchange for economic growth, but needs a balance between economic development and environmental protection, he told the UNGA president. The US has been the largest export market of Vietnam, while Vietnam is also the biggest trade partner of the US among the ASEAN countries, he stressed.
