Despite losing the 2017 Presidential run-off to Senator George Weah of the CDC, Vice President Joseph Nyuma Boakai fulfilled his promise to citizens of Voinjama when he donated several items including a fire service truck, medical supplies, and sporting materials. “This donation came from friends in Brooklyn Park City in the USA as a sign of sealing a sisterly relationship between the two cities and efforts through his work to save lives and properties,” VP Boakai said. Vice President Boakai, in collaboration with the Liberia National Fire Service, also provided effective training for firefighters in Voinjama on the proper usage of the fire truck. As part of his four days’ tour, VP Boakai made a brief stopover in Kolahun and Foya where he was also greeted by tearful supporters who promised to work with him for the good of the county and the country. He also made several other donations including medical supplies for hospitals in Voinjama and Kolahun, along with sporting materials to the youth.
