Share:Since the start of October, the federal government has initiated a drive to arrest and fine unvaccinated individuals. While some of these measures may appear to be little overboard, these are unfortunately necessary considering how the government has tried everything to facilitate voluntary vaccination, the progress for which has remained slow. Additionally, about 60 million individuals have received at least one dose, while the number of fully vaccinated individuals has reached the mark of 30 million. Not long ago in August, the government had given a deadline for workers in public-facing roles to obtain vaccination certificates which resulted in a significant uptick in vaccination numbers. Similarly, the decision by the Sindh government to block SIM cards of unvaccinated individuals also achieved positive results.
