Winnipeg’s new pro soccer team has added a coach with decades of international experience. John Peacock, a technical consultant whose clients include Manchester United, UEFA and FIFA, will join Valour FC part-time this season. Peacock has 35 years experience in international team management, coaching/coach educating and youth development. His career highlights include becoming the first England manager to win the UEFA U-17 European championship in 2010 and acting as an advisor/mentor to the English U-20 team that won the FIFA U-20 World Cup in 2017. “To have a World Cup winner and two-time European Champion on staff is going to be vital at key stages of the year,” Valour coach/GM Rob Gale said in a statement, calling Peacock’s addition “a massive coup” for the club.
