Vancouver moves forward on separated bike lane for Richards Street

The City of Vancouver is moving forward on plans to redesign a bike lane in the downtown core that many cyclists deem hazardous. It's seeking public feedback on a proposal for a separated two-way bike lane running along the east side of Richards Street. Part of the painted bike lane was separated from traffic in 2013 as the city moved forward on its Transportation 2040 plan. A separated path would run from Cordova all the way to Pacific along the east side of Richards Street. There would be a net decrease of 50 parking spaces — or 15 per cent of spots — along Richards Street.
