Veteran Journalist Bobby Burgos writes ‘30’MANILA, Philippines — Veteran journalist and police beat reporter Roberto “Bobby” Gacusana Burgos passed away in his home in Baguio City yesterday. Prior to his retirement in Baguio City, Burgos wrote for the Manila Standard; the Pahayagang Malaya and We Forum, both founded by his late brother Jose Burgos Jr.; The Manila Bulletin and the defunct DYHP-Philippine Herald Group. Burgos was president of the Philippine National Police Press Corps in the early 90s and a Defense Press Corps official during the Cory Aquino administration. He was also Baguio City bureau chief for the Journal Group of Publications from 1998-2001 and a lifetime member of the National Press Club. Burgos’ remains will lie in state in Baguio City.
