The Suez Canal Authority in Egypt announced it will hold a press conference on Saturday afternoon to comment the efforts made to refloat the stranded “Ever Given” Panamanian container ship, stuck sideways in the vital trade artery. The Suez Canal Authority said on its official Facebook page that there will be live broadcast of the press conference, featuring Lieutenant General Osama Rabie discussing the matter. It added that the press conference will be held in the Beach Club in Suez. The disruption of navigation through the Suez Canal has cost global trade about US$400 million per hour, equivalent to about $6.66 million per minute. The Turkish Minister of Transport Adil Karaismailoğlu announced on Friday that his country is ready to provide assistance with the ship that ran aground in the Suez Canal late Tuesday evening.
