Vietnamese “witch of musical instruments” to hold tourVietNamNet Bridge – Artisan Mai Dinh Toi, dubbed “the witch of musical instruments,” will host two live shows on Sao Viet Stage and Kasa in HCM City on March 25 and March 31, respectively. Artisan Mai Dinh Toi, dubbed “the witch of musical instruments,” plays music with a bamboo ladder. Aiming at celebrating Toi’s five-year anniversary of receiving the Asian Record recognition granted by the Asian Record Organisation for his unique handmade musical instruments, the shows will showcase the artisan’s unique performances, such as blowing the whistle with his nose and playing music with musical instruments that are made from glass bottles or tree leaves. Besides this, it is also the first time Toi will perform with his wife on stage, playing traditional musical instruments that have been conceptualised by the artisan himself. Toi holds five records, of which three are Vietnamese records and two are Asian records, for performing his unique self-made musical instruments.
