This appears to be the case with the tired, lacklustre Scottish Government as they respond to yet another rise in violent crime. Contrast that with today's divided and fractured society and it is tempting to wonder where it all went wrong. Stop and think for a minute... does your neighbourhood feel safer now than it did six or seven years ago? Certainly, it would be worth reminding Finance Secretary Shona Robison of this simple truth as she prepares her Scottish Budget. How many more reports showing that violent and sexual crime is on the rise will be overlooked in the pursuit of saving money?
