Although the changes are historic, much of the attention since the meeting has focused on the dueling protests that parents held before its start. One group of parents and advocates — the group Leete was a part of — showed up to support Fairfax students generally and transgender rights specifically. Another, opposing group showed up for a “STOP CRT” rally, held to protest what they view as the infiltration of critical race theory into the Fairfax school system.
