A visually impaired candidate from Maranda High School in Siaya county has emerged among the top performers in the 2020 KCSE exams. He was the only candidate with special needs out of the over 400 candidates at the school. Ominde, who lives with his parents at Carwash estate in Kisumu, was among the 14 top students with special needs. He attributed his success to God, hard work and support from his parents and teachers. He said that his son has had to learn through hardships at Maranda since the school lacked special teachers and facilities.
