• Rospa Imports has brought a yet-to-be-launched VW Golf 8 R to South Africa – albeit unofficially. • According to VWSA, the R will be launched in the final quarter of this year or the first quarter of 2022. South Africa continues to hold its breath in anticipation of Volkswagen's Golf 8 GTI and R performance hatchbacks to officially go on sale. Volkswagen South Africa says it hasn't nailed down a launch date for the R, but has earmarked either the final quarter of this year or the first quarter of 2022 for its local introduction. Both the GTI and R are already on sale in other countries.
