The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission has confirmed that voting has closed in all four by-election areas. The by-elections were for Members of Senate Elgeyo Marakwet County, Members of the National Assembly (MNA) for Kandara and Garissa Township Constituencies and Members of Shella Ward, Lamu County Assembly. IEBC said vote counting is ongoing. "The votes will be classified as either valid or rejected. A valid vote is a vote that has been properly cast in favour of a candidate," IEBC said.
