EDMONTON—Voters in multiple ridings across the province are expressing frustration over the unwillingness of some United Conservative Party candidates to attend locally organized candidates’ forums ahead of election day. Constituents in Banff-Kananaskis, Edmonton-Riverview, and both Lethbridge ridings say their UCP candidates have not participated in local forums, where they were hoping to hear from all candidates on the ballot in order to make an informed decision April 16. Some candidates’ forums have been cancelled as a result of the United Conservative Party’s absence. None of the four UCP candidates responded to requests for comment. Solberg added UCP candidates have attended dozens of forums across the province, and have committed to attending more in the future.
