Voting in Gaibandha 3 by-polls ends without incident, counting underway

Earlier in the day, the voting in the constituency (Sadullapur-Palashbari) began at around 8am. In order to maintain law and order during the voting, 2,500 law enforcement officials, 20 platoons each of Border Guard Bangladesh and Rapid Action Battalion, and 1,584 Ansar members were deployed. The parliamentary election for Gaibandha 3 constituency had been postponed due to the sudden death of Oikya Front candidate Dr TIM Fazley Rabbi Chowdhury on December 19. Voting for the 11th general polls took place in other constituencies on December 30 last year.
