The Western Development Museum is celebrating some of the women who fought for the right to vote in Saskatchewan. Sisters United: Women's Suffrage in Saskatchewan features stories of women who fought for the vote including Violet McNaughton, Emma Stocking and Annie Hollis. (Karen Pidskalny )On March 14, 1916, Saskatchewan became the second province in Canada to allow women to vote provincially. "The government was a little bit leery," explained Carlton "They said there weren't enough women who wanted the vote." Carlton said the suffragettes were able to clearly demonstrate that women wanted the right to cast a ballot.
