The artificial intelligence (AI) model Claude was used by the U.S. military during an operation to capture Venezuela’s former president, Nicolás Maduro. Under Anthropic’s usage rules, Claude is prohibited from being used to facilitate violence, develop weapons, or conduct surveillance. A company spokesperson said:“We cannot comment on whether Claude, or any other AI model, was used for any specific operation, classified or otherwise,” said an Anthropic spokesman.
