McIntyre received help from WWE legend victimized by Orton, including Christian, Big Show, Shawn Michaels and Ric Flair. Still, WWE’s reliance on the past and the surge of Orton has been the biggest threat to McIntyre’s world championship run both in and out of storyline. The Ambulance Match stipulation did little to quell these sentiments, with the unique match seeming to serve as a way for WWE to possibly take title off McIntyre without actually beating him.
