Wall St., economic data push up PSEi


The Philippine market concluded the trading week in the green on the back of better print of some economic data and Wall Street's overnight performance. The benchmark Philippine Stock Exchange index (PSEi) was up 0.47 percent, or 32.08 points to 6,907.79, while the broader All Shares rose 0.49 percent, or 20.29 points to end at 4,174.65 on Friday. Tantiangco said this shows that there have been improvements in the country's economic situation compared to last year. He added that the local bourse also took cues from the performance of US markets overnight as the S&P 500 closed at a record high. The banks led the local sectors at 0.81 percent while the mining and oil index was the sole decliner at 0.15 percent.
