CVS, the big national drug chain, is generally acknowledged to have been the first big retailer to recognize this when it rebranded itself as CVS Health in 2014, at the same time stopping the sale of cigarettes and tobacco products. A year ago it opened its first Walmart Health clinic store-in-store department in Georgia and has followed that up with five additional units in the state and one in Arkansas. “Our longest-standing Walmart Health locations are seeing the largest shifts towards chronic care management and continuity of care.”Clearly the big retailer has big plans for this initiative.
