[File, Standard]A prison warden in Mwingi Central, Kitui County has been arrested for allegedly killing his girlfriend and her 1-year-old son. David Nduati Kimani allegedly committed the act at 11pm on Tuesday, May 18. The shooting incident was reported by two prison wardens, Dennis Mbungu and Nelson Mandela Katee, who heard gunshot sounds emanating from Kimani’s house. “He (Kimani) had reported at the Watch Tower at 6pm Tuesday, but he wasn’t there at 11pm, when the gunshot sounds were heard,” said Mukala. Duty officer Mutisya said after, allegedly, killing Mwende and her child, Kimani surrendered his firearm and confessed to committing the act.
