When the Washington Commanders’ General Manager Martin Mayhew is preparing his franchise for the NFL Draft, his work starts during the season. That’s when he first saw Mississippi State cornerback Emmanuel Forbes as he was sifting through hours of tape of potential draft picks. As the process fully began over the last couple of months, the Commanders were zoning in on Forbes. For Rivera, Mayhew and the entire organization, it was exactly what they were hoping when they entered the draft. “I didn’t know where I was going but I’m proud to be a Washington Commander,” Forbes said.
