more-inPrincipal Secretary of the Public Works Department S.K.Prabhakar continued to inspect different parts of Tiruvarur and Nagapattinam districts on Wednesday to verify whether water released in the Cauvery has reached tail-end areas. In Tiruvarur district, Mr. Prabhakar visited the tail-end areas in Muthupet union such as Keezhakadu Thoppathanaveli, the Bamini regulator and Jambavanodai Koraiyar regulator. Later, he said that 74 desilting works were taken up in Tiruvarur district at an estimated cost of ₹3.79 crore. The water released in the Cauvery has reached the tail-end areas of the district. In Nagapattinam district, he inspected irrigation canals in the tail-end areas in Thalaignayiru and Vedaranyam unions.
