Jeff Harding, the wine director at New York’s legendary Waverly Inn and Garden, wants to change that perspective. First, I think there is a lot of cheap sweet wine (sugar hides flaws) and most people’s first exposure to sweet wine is not of the highest quality. Do you think helping customers drink dessert wines in fun fashion like the Sauternes cocktail can help spread awareness for the category? I also wish we had a different term than sweet wine, or dessert wine. When will the Sauternes cocktail be available at The Waverly Inn?
