Aetna Thursday confirmed it will sell its Medicare drug plans to WellCare Health Plans for an undisclosed sum as the insurer and CVS Health work to satisfy federal antitrust regulators and complete their merger. "Aetna and CVS Health continue to engage in productive discussions with the DOJ. Aetna’s expectations regarding the timing of the closing of the CVS Health transaction remain unchanged." It's unclear whether CVS will also sell any Medicare drug plans. "The divestiture does not affect Aetna’s individual or group Medicare Advantage, Medicare Advantage Part D or Medicare Supplement products or plans," Aetna said.
