Wellington Street reopens following 'crisis situation': police

London police have reopened Wellington Street between Dufferin Street and Queens Avenue following the resolution of a "crisis situation," according to Const. Romano says officers responded to a man who was holding a weapon to himself, and spent about an hour de-escalating the situation. There was no risk to public safety, but the section of Wellington Street was blocked off as a precautionary measure, Romano said. "Police engaged in conversation with him in order to make sure everyone left the scene safely," said Romano, who added that no one was injured as a result of the situation. The man is now in police custody, said Romano.
