The New Zealand Portrait Gallery is located on the Wellington Waterfront, adjacent to the intersection of Customhouse Quay and Johnstone St.- Stuff The painting of Kelly, a former president of the New Zealand Council of Trade Unions, was presented to the gallery on Monday by Wellington Mayor Celia Wade-Brown.
