Property website Zoopla carried out UK-wide research looking at affordable places to live and one town in the Rhondda Valleys is the only place in Wales to make the top 10. ‌The town has regularly appeared on lists of property hotspots in Wales as a place to find a bargain. ‌In 2021 it came second on a list of ten places in the UK with the cheapest property price per square metre. In parts of the North East, families can buy a home for much less than the cost of buying in the most affordable towns in southern England.
