Welthungerhilfe Hands Over Three Health Facilities to Ministry of Health


Monrovia – Welthungerhilfe recently handed over three modern health facilities to the Ministry of Health in Sinoe and River Gee counties supporting the government of Liberia in its quest to build a resilient health system. When the Ebola virus stroke Liberia in 2014, the health system of Liberia was overwhelmed and exposed and over 4,800 people lost their lives. The need to strengthen the health system became obvious and a top priority for the Liberian Government and the International Community. The project under the title “Ebola Support Programme is constructing altogether nine health facilities in three counties: Sinoe, River Gee and Grand Gedeh. Within the coming weeks, WHH will be handing over the remaining 6 health facilities in the 3 counties.
