Ahead of Bakri Eid, members of beef dealers association said that they would urge Muslims across the state to sacrifice goats instead of cows to avoid trouble. “According to the inscription, we can sacrifice cows, bullocks, goats, sheep etc. If sacrificing cows is causing a problem, why not avoid cows and opt for goats. We will also tell Muslims not to sacrifice animals in the open and find a proper place to do so. Instead of buying those cows, people can buy cows from markets of cows reared in Bengal at places such as Baruipur and Madhyamgram.
