Rhodes, a retired window cleaner, died on Thursday night in King’s College hospital after his life support system was withdrawn. “I couldn’t get out, but my wife, Christine, and my two daughters went up there and stayed with him. “He was a ladies’ man – don’t get me wrong, I mean in the best sense, he liked women and they liked him. Apparently he went into a coma straight away.”The Labour MP Chuka Umunna paid tribute to Rhodes on Twitter. She was also mourned by colleagues at the DLD sixth-form college in London, where she worked as an administrator.
