As they do every year, the city will host (free) performances and fireworks at Nathan Phillips Square on New Year’s Eve, starting at 8 p.m. But there’s more — as the world prepares to ring in 2019, here’s list of what’s open and what’s closed on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. What’s open (New Year’s Eve):Article Continued BelowBeer Store (10 a.m. to 6 p.m.) LCBO (11 a.m. to 6 p.m.) TTC will operate on a Sunday schedule, service will be free after 7 p.m. until 7 a.m. on New Year’s Day. GO Transit service will be free after 7 p.m. on New Year’s Eve. Public libraries will stay open till 1 p.m., recreation centres will stay open till 4 p.m.. What’s open (New Year’s Day): TTC service will be free from 7 p.m. New Year’s Eve to 7 a.m. the next day.
