Earlier this month, Consumer Reports launched an initiative called Broadband Together, surveying people about home connections and asking respondents to upload copies of their internet bills. Next their download and upload speeds are tested, after which participants are prompted to upload the latest bill from their internet provider. Those uncomfortable with providing a bill to CR can skip to a brief demographic questionnaire that asks about internet service reliabilityand overall satisfaction with the ISP. Consumer Reports' tool tells you how much speed based on what you do and how many devices you have.
