The Big East picked up a huge victory on the court at Madison Square Garden on Saturday when Seton Hall upended ninth-ranked Kentucky. “The Garden and the Big East are synonymous with each other,” said Joel Fisher, executive vice president of MSG Marquee Events. “The Big East is a part of the fabric of Madison Square Garden and Madison Square Garden is a part of the fabric of the Big East.”“It’s the right thing to do,” said St. John’s coach Chris Mullin, the MVP of the first Big East tourney held at MSG in 1983. “This is home for the Big East,” she said. “It sounds a little corny but it really is part of the Big East DNA.”
