I’d argue the real reason Montreal is punching above expectations is because Carey Price is playing, for the most part, like the good, old Carey Price, following the worst season of his career last season. So by the second half of the game, Price had given up. Here we are seven years into the Bergevin era and he has a team with only six drafted players — Price, Kotkaniemi, Brendan Gallagher, Artturi Lehkonen, Victor Mete and Charles Hudon. Price is paying the price for that and so are all Habs fans.
