What the curb on surge pricing for Uber, Ola mean for Delhi- The Times of India

This limitation on how much Ola or Uber can charge however does not mean Delhi residents can kiss goodbye to surge pricing. This means Ola or Uber will not be able to charge more than Rs 23/km for their larger cars like Uber X, Ola Prime or Ola Lux. The Delhi High Court has said app-based taxi aggregators cannot charge more than the price cap set by the government. They will also not be able to charge more than Rs 12.5/km on economy services like Uber Go, Ola Micro or Ola Mini. Similar surges would be at Uber’s disposal, given the base tariffs for their two services – Uber Go and Uber X.
